Back pain simply explained...

Everybody, at some point in their life, will suffer back pain. Your body is built to compensate, whether it is my field of body mechanics or it is the heart, lungs or blood vessels. If you have heart problems, you may realise this with the manifestation of symptoms. However, damage to the heart goes on over years - given stress, a bad diet and a lack of awareness.

At some point along the compensation timeline, your body will stop compensating and there will be a manifestation of symptoms - whether it is back pains, migraines, heart pain, etc. These symptoms are due to an accumulation of stresses, with which your body will cope and at the same time cause damage to your body or spine. When you finally experience pains or abnormal discomfort (whether organic or mechanical), this would flag the underlying degenerative issues which may have been accumulating over time without your awareness.

As a chiropractor and osteopath, I deal with correcting your spine as much as chiropractic and osteopathy practices will improve it for your body, given your particular set of environmental circumstances, such as your workplace, the way you sleep, your slouching positions, the exercises you do or don't do, the sports you play, accidents or injuries you have had, genetics, etc.

As dental decay goes on unheralded to a point, spinal decay occurs in the same way without a manifestation of symptoms such as pain or discomfort.

So what can we do for you?

1) Alleviate or resolve pain,

2) Correct the spine to allow normal neurotransmission and normal mechanical function, so as to strengthen your immune system and allow normal mobility.

How do we achieve this?

By differential diagnosis - with the use of osteopathic, chiropractic and orthopaedic physical diagnosis and X-rays if necessary.

Our treatment consists of:

The marriage of the best chiropractic techniques, gentle osteopathic techniques and soft tissue massage.
